Our purpose

Freedom Centre is a public events and performance venue in the heart of St Helier. We exist to provide a welcoming, well-run space where people can gather for arts, culture, conversation, and community life.

Our focus is on hosting high-quality events that serve the island, support creativity, and bring people together. We work with promoters, artists, organisations, and community groups to create events that are accessible, professional, and rooted in the life of Jersey.

From Cinema to Community

The Freedom Centre is the renewed home of a historic St Helier cinema, with a story that spans more than seventy years.

Our team

Freedom Centre is run by a small core staff team, supported by trusted contractors and a wider pool of casual event staff.

For public events, front-of-house and hospitality roles are carried out by trained, paid staff who are familiar with the building and our ways of working. This helps ensure a consistent, professional experience for audiences and organisers alike.

We work closely with promoters, artists, suppliers, and production teams to support events from planning through to delivery, with a focus on clear communication and good preparation.

Support the Centre

Governance

Freedom Centre is operated by Freedom Church (Jersey) Limited, a registered Jersey charity (Charity No. 406).

Income generated through venue hire and events supports the charitable work of Freedom Church and the ongoing operation of the Freedom Centre. Funds are applied in line with charitable priorities and operational needs, including the care, maintenance, and future development of the building.

This structure allows the Centre to operate sustainably while remaining aligned with the wider charitable purpose it exists to serve.
